The mission of the Muslim West Facts Project (MWFP) is to disseminate key poll findings to opinion leaders, policy makers, and members of civil society so that facts, not stereotypes, inform debates. MWFP is set up as a nonprofit partnership between Gallup and the Coexist Foundation.
Gallup, a leader in global opinion research, launched the World Poll in 2005 to give a voice to residents in more than 140 countries around the world on issues of health, entrepreneurship, governance, and leadership. To ensure independence and integrity, Gallup funds the World Poll in its entirety. As part of this massive research undertaking, Gallup conducts public opinion surveys in more than 35 predominantly Muslim countries as well as in Western countries with minority Muslim populations, such as the United States, Great Britain, Germany, and France.
The Coexist Foundation is a United Kingdom-based charitable organization whose mission is to promote better understanding between people of the Abrahamic faiths through dialogue, education, and research.
Gallup and the Coexist Foundation share the belief that the careful collection and dissemination of public opinion findings will lead to a better understanding between people of different faiths and cultures. Gallup and the Coexist Foundation seek more partners to facilitate the dissemination of the poll findings. Currently, the Brookings Institution, MOST (Muslims on Screen and Television), and the Tony Blair Faith Foundation are partners in the Muslim West Facts Project.
